Designs on Our Future ~ Building on Our Past…
Groundbreaking
November 29, 2012
Scenes from the recent groundbreaking for our new post-surgical and rehabilitative therapies wing. Our Building on Excellence Capital Campaign has committed two million dollars toward the construction of a six-bed, 5.6 million dollar, 15,000 square foot addition. The patient rooms will be almost three times as large as our current rooms and provide ample space for today’s state-of-the-art equipment as well as accommodations for family and friends to visit or spend the night. The new facility is designed upon a patient- and family-centric model; focused on healing and nurturing body, mind, and spirit. It will better facilitate our surgical staff and enable comprehensive patient care in a warm and healing environment—the hospital’s first major expansion in more than 40 years!

For over 84 years, St. Luke’s Hospital has provided our rural community with medical care that rivals much larger facilities. Originally built in 1972, the current hospital is undergoing its first major facility upgrade since 1991. With your continued support, we are building an addition that will better serve the community’s current needs as well as the needs of future generations.
St. Luke’s Hospital is constructing a 6-bed, state-of- the-art, post-surgical unit that provides an integrated approach to patient care, focusing on a healing environment that accommodates our patients as well as their families. It also incorporates a rehabilitative therapy unit that complements our staff’s dedication to exceptional patient care and supports post-operative rehabilitation with an emphasis on orthopedics and Dr. Brian Rosenberg’s exceptional surgical team.
The new patient rooms are almost three times as large as our current rooms and have ample space for family members to comfortably spend the night. Amenities include private bathrooms, pristine views, and an emphasis on the healing powers of natural aesthetics. The addition has a large family waiting area with a stone fireplace to extend a warm, personal touch to all aspects of healthcare; a vital part of our proposed solution. St. Luke’s will continue our tradition of quality healthcare through the advocacy and financial support of our patients, staff , Board of Trustees, Foundation, and community.
Groundbreaking for our 15,000 square foot, $5.6 million addition was held on November 29, 2012, with completion anticipated by the end of 2013.
Your contributions will help St. Luke’s continue our long-standing tradition of “exceptional care close to home."
